THE CHALLENGE
Neighbors and Neighbors Association's Mission for Community Growth
Neighbors and Neighbors Association Incorporated (NANA) has a deep-rooted passion for uplifting the community by fostering stability and growth in low-income areas. While these neighborhoods are rich in culture and history, they face significant economic challenges, leaving many families struggling. Affordable housing is scarce, and the gap between income levels and housing costs continues to widen.
Over time, NANA has made plans to expand its mission beyond supporting small businesses to address this pressing issue. Recognizing the critical need for affordable, single-family homes, NANA set its sights on developing such housing in Miami-Dade’s Liberty City and Little Haiti neighborhoods. They aimed to build ten units for potential families but knew they financially couldn’t do it alone.
THE SOLUTION
A Collaborative Effort for Community Empowerment
Amidst these challenges, Neighbors and Neighbors Association Incorporated (NANA) recognized the urgent need for financial support and strategic partnerships to turn their vision into reality. Understanding the transformative potential affordable housing could bring to these neighborhoods, NANA sought a solution. Driven by their commitment to create lasting change, NANA turned to BBIF for support.
Recognizing the value of NANA’s project, BBIF offered a construction loan to help develop single-family homes on infill lots for first-time homebuyers. This collaboration exemplified a shared commitment to community empowerment and economic development. Together, they aimed to address the housing crisis head-on, providing stability and opportunities for families in need.
