ABOUT CENTRAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY
A Lifelong Mission To Provide Professional Services To The Community
Dr. Juan Carlos Amesty is a Hispanic American and the founder and president of Central Christian University (CCU). Central Christian University began its humble beginnings over a decade ago. In 2003, the Council Missionary Church of God started a small Christian university of fifty-eight students and five professors. By 2007, the school had ten campuses worldwide, adding programs and garnering recognition from mainstream culture and academia. CCU also pioneered establishing an educational institution in countries no Christian institution had, launching CCU in La Paz, Bolivia, and Port au Prince, Haiti.
THE CHALLENGE
Lacking Support & Funding To Provide Adequate Social Services
As a local Christian University located in the Pine Hills community, CCU commits to improving the Orlando community through education and social services. Still, Dr. Juan Carlos faced the challenge of effectively leveraging this opportunity to expand their foundations further due to a need for more support and financial development.
THE SOLUTION
BBIF Florida and Fifth Third Bank Invest In New Markets Tax Credit Incentives Into Central Christian University
The NMTC financing of 1.3 million dollars came from an allocation given to BBIF Florida by Fifth Third Bank in 2018. In addition to this below-market-rate loan, BBIF Florida provided a business loan of approximately $100,000 to help Central Christian University with improvements related to hurricane resiliency. Through the recent acquisition of its facility, CCU has an opportunity to continue to expand on its foundations, making a long-term impact in its community.
THE IMPACT
Community Empowerment, Investing In Education and Services
Once the NMTC financing came through, CCU found itself at a pivotal moment with a significant opportunity for growth and long-term impact. This acquisition serves as a stepping stone for CCU to further expand its foundations and strengthen its presence in the community. By utilizing this investment made to its fullest potential, CCU can enhance its capacity to provide valuable educational programs, services, and resources to the community, ultimately creating a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and contributing to the betterment of the people.
We believe in the people of this community; our goal is to uplift them through education and social services. This community investment has empowered us to uplift families, educate the community, and encourage economic opportunity.
